Community Garden & Farm
Community Soil Foundation is a non-profit organization that cultivates the wellness of Sonoma County communities by offering land-based education, creating access to organic produce, and regenerating habitat and natural resources. Our Community Garden & Farm program raises awareness and builds literacy about regenerative farming and gardening including the benefits to individual, cultural, and ecological health. Project sites are strategically chosen to suit our multi-functional goals to get the most out of a single parcel of land while amplifying the benefits to the local community.
Our flagship project, the Larkfield Community Garden and Learning Center, is a partnership with Mark West Union School District and Sonoma County Regional Parks alongside foundational support from Sutter Health. This one-acre farm and garden provides a community gathering space plus teaches local residents and students how to grow organic food in Sonoma County while protecting and restoring natural habitats.
Each year, over 3,000 pounds of organic produce is donated to local food banks and families. Fresh produce is also offered at affordable sales at our Farm Stand. The Larkfield Community Garden is open to the public, and hosts Volunteer Workdays on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am-2pm. All ages are welcome to have fun, care for the land, and grow beautiful, tasty food!
